Molly and Angel, like many couples who planned on getting married in 2020, had to scale back their larger wedding, to a more intimate back yard wedding at Molly’s childhood home in Central Massachusetts. While it wasn’t the wedding they originally planned, it never missed an ounce of love or special details.
Molly and Angel were also able to able to keep her amazing vendors for their day! The venue owners of their original plans provided the florals from their garden and also catered the event! But Molly insisted on making her own wedding cake!
Personalized “M + A” masks were handed out as party favors. Guests were asked to watch the ceremony from the front porch. While only family and a few hometown friends were in attendance, the rest of their original guest list watched in from Zoom! (I even saw a few guests crying from their living rooms over the zoom call).
After the ceremony, everyone drank champagne on the deck outside, and then dined under the lights in the screened in porch. Molly kept noting how she never thought that she would get married in her hometown, let allow her own house! Yet she kept saying over and over again how perfect it all was.
How Angel Proposed;
I always ask my couples how they met and how they proposed, as I love hearing those stories. Their’s was no exception;
“Angel proposed to me on March 18th, 2018. Two days earlier, I had learned that I matched into a pediatrics residency in Tampa, where Angel had matched into residency a year earlier. We were ecstatic that we would be able to continue our lives together! The next day we left for our annual trip to Puerto Rico, where Angel grew up.
He took me to fly a kite at El Morro, an old fortress in Old San Juan in front of which there is a large lawn where people go to fly kites. On the way to old San Juan we got stuck in a giant traffic jam for at least an hour. Then once wen got there it began to rain! We took shelter drinking beers in our favorite bar, El Lupulo, until the rain cleared and then walked over to EL Morro. Angel handed me the kite to hold. I looked up at it and when I turned around he was on one knee :)”
