I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
We had so much fun shooting this Sprague Lake Engagement session at Rocky Mountain National Park! I love engagement session in Rocky Mountain, and this was my first time at Sprague Lake! We got there an hour or so before sunset, and just took a leisurely walk around the lake, where there were lots of fisherman wading in the shallow waters. As we walked across our first bridge, I told Liza and Stu how I really wanted to see a Moose one day….and then at the end of our shoot, there was a moose LITERALLY right at the end of that same bridge! I can only describe it as magical! (Scroll to the bottom for the moose photo!!). Bonus, it was just fun hanging out with these two!We ended the shoot with the trademark “champagne shower” that I love to do during my engagement sessions. The colors that start to appear once the sun dips over the rockies is unbelievable as well.
If you are interested in doing an engagement session at Sprague Lake, don’t forget to get a photo permit! Sprague Lake is a great and easy option within Rocky Mountain National park for photos, because there is a parking lot right by the lake. The perimeter of the lake is probably about a mile long, and very flat and with a paved surface. We were there for sunset, but I would imagine that sunrise would be beautiful as well!! Obviously since it is a National Park, crowds are something to factor in. We went mid-week and still ran into a few tourists, granted it was mid-summer which is peek season! Can’t wait to see it in other seasons too!
