Kristen and Alex are engaged! We went back on forth on location ideas for where we wanted to take their photos. We finally decided on the Colorado Paint Mines for their engagement photos! This was my first time to the Paint Mines and trust me when I say it did not disappoint! The paint mines are very unassuming, as it is a 2 hours drive from Denver to the middle of nowhere Colorado. The parking lot sits a top a grassy plain, and it is a short walk from there to an overlook of the mines! It was a easy walk down and the landscapes were to die for!
The variation alone within these mines was breathtaking. White wash rocks alongside purples hues. Every corner was a new mystery! I love finding new Colorado engagement locations, and the paint mines may be a new favorite. We found some cool caves and hills. It is easy to get lost in there!
Kristen and Alex were naturals. (Also, can applaud them on their fun outfit choices!? Love!). I tell all my couples that the first 15 minutes of their engagement session feels awkward, and that it is totally natural to feel that way. These two jumped right in with me though! We were frolicking around the rocks, getting white dust all over us haha!
After this session, it made me really want to go back! I kept telling them I wish all of my engagement sessions were at the paint mines! It is such a unique spot in Colorado, and just one of the many reasons I love this state! We have not only lakes and rocky mountains, but crazy beautiful desert like spots like the Colorado paint mines as well!
