I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
This Blue Lakes Breckenridge Elopement was so peaceful! Stefanie and Mike came in from the east coast. They wanted a simple ceremony away from the limelight to just be with each other. They also wanted stunning views! What better backdrop than the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado!?
Breckenridge is a GREAT place to elope and get married in Colorado. It isn’t too far from the Denver airport (about 1.5-2 hours away) and has lots to do and cute places to stay in town. And, it’s beautiful! While known mostly for it’s ski mountain, Breckenridge is a great spot to visit all year round. The town is great for hiking, biking, and much more. They also have great lodging options. While in town there will be cute airbnbs and ski lodges, there are also large airbnbs and cabins in the woods just outside of town that can sleep up to 15 people!
Stefanie and Mike rented a cute spot right off the main street of downtown Breckenridge. We signed their marriage license in their airbnb, and then head out to the mountains. Just about 20 mins away are the beautiful Blue Lakes. (FYI, the dirt road to Blue Lakes is seasonal, open from June-October). I love this area for photos and elopements because there aren’t many tourists here. You will mostly encounter hikers, paddle boarders, and campers! This spot is known for its dispersed camping. (I’d love to camp out here!). We hike all the way up to the reservoir to get stunning views of the lakes below, and it was worth the effort.
