I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
This feature is a Part 2 to Hannah and Conner’s wedding, and it features their Gorrono Ranch wedding reception! (Don’t forget to check out the first half of their wedding day, a San Sophia Overlook wedding ceremony!) While their ceremony was sweet and romantic, it was now time to continue the party. And party they did! Guests were shuttled from the overlook wedding deck down to Gorrono Ranch where they were welcomed with a variation of welcome cocktails and appetizers. Guests were again left aghast with the vast views from the ranch’s property. They explored the property, including the saloon on site, and then after some sentimental vows and delicious food, they danced the night away indoors under a few disco balls. What a night to remember!
A little more about hosting a Gorrono Ranch Wedding Reception;
Telluride is a very sought after wedding destination, as it has it all; the charm, the adventure, and the beauty! One of the best Telluride Ski Resort wedding venues is Gorrono Ranch, a historic ranch that was once a sheep herders farm owned by the Gorrono family. It is now used as one of the main dining venues for skiiers of Telluride mountain during the winter months, and a perfect wedding reception venue during the summer. It gives off rustic western vibes, with two old small wood cabins on the property. One of these small cabins has been transformed into a saloon, which is always fun for guests to pop in and try some bourbon! The multiple wooden decks have stunning views of the Mt. Wilson mountain range in the distance, and is a perfect sunset watch spot.
Gorrono Ranch Wedding reception stats and accessibility;
Sitting at 10,100 ft elevation, the ranch can host a 200 person seated reception, with two cozy reception rooms inside the main building. There are also a few real fire places inside to keep guests warm, and plenty of space for late night dancing. The wooden decks are very multi-purposed, and can be used for ceremony setups, cocktail hour mingling, or reception settings. The ranch does have a dirt road access for vendor set up, but guests will be accessing the venue via the Gondola Lift 7 from the mountain village or town. Shuttles will then pick up the guests at the gondola to bring them to and from the ranch. The gondola is free and stays open late for wedding guests to make it back down to their accommodations.
Gorrono Ranch wedding reception costs and requirements;
If you are hosting a summer wedding (within the months of June-October), you will be expected to pay around $8,500 for the venue, plus a food and beverage minimum. The minimum will range from $24k-30k depending on day of the week. There are winter month options as well (December-March), but you will need to reach out to the venue to get those prices. If you wanted to also host your ceremony at Gorrono Ranch, there is an additional ceremony fee, usually around $1,500. One fun things about using Telluride Ski Resort for your wedding is that they actually have a few other beautiful options for ceremony sites! You can also get married at the San Sophia Overlook wedding deck (like Hannah and Conner did), or there is also the Palmyra Lookout.
