Nantucket Backyard Wedding | Sarah + Chelsea

It was SO much fun to finally see Sarah and Chelsea get married in one of their favorite places in the world; Nantucket! These two met while working at a restaurant on the island, so is it was only fitting to have a Nantucket backyard wedding with their friends and family in attendance. I’ve been watching their story unfold for YEARS. I met Sarah while studying abroad in New Zealand, and we both ended up on the west coast post-college. When I’d go to visit Sarah in LA, she kept telling me about this girl named Chelsea. She was the only thing on her mind! Some time after that, she brought Chelsea down to San Diego to celebrate the 4th of July with me and my friends. They were just the cutest couple and I had no doubts that they were the perfect match.

Flash forward a few years and they were planning on getting married! They told me how they were going to wed on Nantucket in the backyard of a beautiful house by the beach. I was so excited! And then, 2020 hit. They had to delay their wedding plans for a whole year. The anticipation was killing everyone! We wanted to celebrate these two!

But all the waiting paid off- we ended up with BEAUTIFUL weather on the island! It was my first time to Nantucket. I was captured by the small island charm, just as I’m sure Sarah and Chelsea had been years before that. It was New England in a nutshell, and on the beach. The house they had rented for the backyard wedding was perfect. With a big yard and two houses on the property, there was lots of room for activities! A large white tent was the center piece of the property, with a rock filled driveway that led to the seaside cottage houses.

The amount of love and support that came from these ladies’ friends and family was beautiful. Everyone had such large smiles on their faces the entire weekend. The girls felt the same. They were dancing and just so happy. They were very intentional with how they spent every minute of their wedding day, which I adored. I was so glad to be a witness to such a beautiful and perfect day! Congrats again, my friends!!
