How many people have wanted a private island Mexico wedding yet haven’t had luck finding the perfect mix of beautiful and affordable? It seems like a hard ask, but yet…..here I’m telling you that IT EXISTS! This remote wedding venue on the coast outside of Puerto Vallarta can be exclusively yours and your guests for a fair cost! It has it ALL, a spa, a luxurious getting ready cabin, beach hammocks, a covered reception patio, beach ceremony location, and all the tequila you want!
When the day begins, you’ll be treated like royalty and ushered to your private cabin at the top of the hill through the jungle. You’ll have views of the blue Pacific Ocean and you are fed breakfast AND lunch. You’ll have a few hours to spend before your beauty team arrives, and can spend those hours however you chose! If you’d like to go for a swim in the ocean, a nap on the hammock, or relax with a massage at the spa, it’s all yours. You can freshen up in your high-end luxurious private bathroom in your wedding cabin. The cabin is so spacious that a full hair and makeup team can easily accommodate you and your wedding party. Oh, and it’s air conditioned.
What’s really fun about this private island Mexican getaway is that it is only accessible by boat. Your guests will get ferried on their own private ferry from the Puerto Vallarta seaport and taken on a fun excursion to your venue. They will get to see the ceremony set up from afar before stepping foot on land, which intensifies the anticipation! Once they land at shore, they will be escorted through the jungle over bridges and sandy paths guided by candlelight to your private beach. They will be welcomed with a tequila drink as they take their seats in the sand.
After you say your “i do’s”, the night is all yours too! Guests can mingle on the beach before dinner starts in the covered reception area. You’ll be treated to a Mexican buffet with all you can eat delicacies. (There’s even a dessert buffet!) The bar sits right in the middle of the reception room, so you WON’T be going thirsty. Margaritas all night!
Once everyone has had their fill for dinner, it’s time to hit the dance floor. The beach will be transitioned into a raging party, complete with a bonfire and lounge chairs for the older crowd that won’t be dancing the night away. The DJ has club lights that will rock the crowd for hours. Tiki torches will be your only other source of light for the evening, along with the thousands of candles that will light the way back to the reception room and the bathrooms.
When the night is over, around 11pm, it’s time to head back to the ferry. The candles will light the way! (And the venue staff) Once your make your way back through the jungle to the ferry, the party doesn’t stop. There is also a bar AND a DJ booth on the 45 minute ferry ride back to Puerto Vallarta.
I’ve photographed weddings for over 10 years and all across the U.S. and Mexico. This venue might be one of my absolute favorites to work at. It always draws a fun crowd and the ambiance can’t be beat. Not to mention, Puerto Vallarta is such an easy and fun city for travelers. There are plenty of resorts (including all inclusive ones) for large groups to stay at, but the downtown area is where the life of the party really is! It is a safe city and easy to navigate. The airport is about 15 mins from some of the main hotels, and another 20 mins from downtown past the hotels.
So I’ve already teased about how this Private Island Mexico wedding venue was affordable. Compared to wedding venues similar to this beauty and uniqueness, you’re going to be spending only a fraction of the cost. For the entire venue for 120 guests, including your ferry rides, and food and drinks, will be about $20,000. AN ENTIRE PRIVATE ISLAND, Y’ALL!
If you’re looking for all-inclusive resorts to stay at with all of your friends and family on the beach, then I’d check out Sunscape, Las Palmas Resort, Sunset Plaza, Dreams Vallarta Bay to start! There are SO many other resorts that sit nearby the marina to choose from, including many hotels that aren’t all inclusive that might be with your favorite hotel rewards program.
I also would suggest looking at lodging options closer to the Zona Romantica, or the downtown are of Puerto Vallarta. There are some beautiful and very affordable airbnbs two blocks from the beach with pools and front gate security. There are also many luxury boutique hotels that are more quaint. I’d check out Rivera Del Rio, Zona Hotel, or Villa LaLa (adults only).
Then I’m your gal. I’ve photographed a good handful of weddings at this specific venue, so I am VERY familiar with the flow of the day, the venues timeline, how to get to the ferry, and much more. If you’re looking for more information on weddings here, please reach out!
