I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
Laura and Tony were one of my many couples this year that had to scramble for a Plan B….and then again a Plan C for their wedding. The stress of planning such an event is hard enough, but then add a global pandemic. Luckily, things seemed to work out in their favor, as even their ‘plan c’ turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL intimate wedding with their family at the Taughannock Falls Overlook in Ithaca, NY.
Funny story, I’ve actually witnessed these two and their love story since I was in high school! That’s right, Laura and Tony are high school sweethearts, and I also went to high school with them! They were both into music, (Tony being a musician, and Laura would sing).
How they met;
About 100 years ago, we met in high school. Laura sat a few rows in front of me in study hall. I don’t think she knew I existed. We got introduced through a friend, and from there I asked her to go to a dance as friends. Then, we started hanging out more and more. We started playing some music, writing songs and singing. She has an amazing voice. For real. Sparks were there. I believe we went to see Shrek and that night on the walk home was our first kiss. From there, we have been on a journey full of joys and struggles. Through all of that, we have become stronger and better than ever.Â
How they chose their venue;
Laura ended up going off to college in Ithaca, hence why they chose this gorgeous town as their backdrop for their wedding. Ithaca, NY is known for it’s stunning gorges. At this time of year, the water wasn’t quite flowing at the Taughannock Falls Overlook, but it was definitely still running at Robert H. Treman park, where we ended up going for portraits after their reception on the lake.
At their reception, Laura had a surprise for Tony. She played her ukele and sang him a song. It was so sweet. They can’t wait to celebrate next year with more friends and family with a larger party!! Congrats again! And thanks for having me photograph your day!!
Such beautiful photos. I’ve been looking into similar accomodations. Do you remember where those little cabins are located/can you rent them?
Hi Peri! They were actually cabins that they rented on the lower east side of Seneca Lake! 🙂 Not sure of the name of them.
