I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
Kelsey and Ben are getting married in this beautiful mountain ski town, so it felt right to take Vail, Colorado engagement photos too! Kelsey and Ben met a few years ago through work. The only catch was that Kelsey was living in Kansas City, and Ben was living in the U.K. They managed to figure out how to navigate a long distance relationship, and then covid happened. Kelsey eventually made her way to London to be with Ben, and from there they decided to start planning a wedding!
Of course, nothing beats Colorado mountain scenery. Since Kelsey was very familiar with Colorado, and she had showed Ben around Vail on a previous trip, they decided it was going to be a great place to unite friends and family when they tie the knot in the summer of ’23. They were able to make it back to the U.S. to visit family, but also tour around for their wedding venue. While in town, we decided to take their engagement photos in Vail, Colorado.
We started off in Vail Village, which was bustling with summer vacationers rafting and tubing down the river that flows through town, and families getting ready to head out to dinner. We walked around the main village center and under the covered bridge. Vail is so picturesque- the whole town is modeled off a Swiss chalet style buildings. It is so unique! The wildflowers were in bloom and the weather was a perfect 75 degrees.
After walking around the village, we decided to get some epic mountain views for our next engagement photo spot. My favorite part about Vail Colorado engagement photos is that you can get a variety of beautiful locations within a short driving distance from each other! We decided to head out to Shrine Pass, which is about 20 mins from downtown Vail. The wildflowers this year in the Colorado mountains have been SO beautiful! We stopped along the road on the way up the pass to take some photos with beautiful purple and yellow flowers. We then went on a little excursion further up Shrine Pass road. From there we were able to find some great lookouts with views of Rocky mountains in the distance.
Kelsey and Ben popped some champagne and we were all just in awe of the beauty that completely surrounded us. The views outside of Vail are unmatched, and they make for some epic engagement photo locations. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in two years!! Congrats again!
