Caitlin and Michael hosted a beautiful summer Annuals Garden and Pavilion wedding in the heart of the Denver Botanic Gardens. The flowers were blooming, the sun was out, and the air was filled with excitement. Caitlin custom designed all of the invites and signage for the wedding, which showed her patience and attention to detail. She is kind, caring, and thoughtful, and every detail of the day showed. Michael is the outgoing and energetic one of the duo, and gathering his friends prior to and post of the ceremony showed all the love he could fill a room with. They are really the perfect pair. Who knew that all of this would be the result of a covid taco date!!

The Annuals Garden and Pavilion is a perfect spot within the Denver Botanic Gardens to host a wedding of about 120ish people. The pavilion sits in the heart of the Gardens, and gives an indoor/outdoor feel. It’s also perfect for all weather conditions as it is covered! (The rain even came for a brief minute for Caitlin and Michael’s wedding and all guests were kept dry!). There are some areas on the outskirts of the pavilion that are a great set up for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour, as well as post ceremony! Catering can post up very close by in a secluded area to be able to serve hors d’oeuvres. The pavilion is nestled in between some of the most lush areas of the gardens, with flowers and lil-pad filled ponds on either side of it.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is a close drive to downtown Denver. It sits on the outskirts of Cherry Creek, with high-end shopping, dining, and lodging only a few minutes away. There are also multiple other locations on site for different parts of the wedding day. Caitlin and Michael used the pavilion for their ceremony space, but then moved their guests to Michael Hall. Michael Hall is an indoor reception room that resembles a ball room closer to the Main Entrance of the gardens. Other couples have used the Annuals Garden and Pavilion as their reception area. So there really is no wrong way to host your event here!
While the DBG says that the seated capacity for a reception under the pavilion is 200 guests, I think it would be best for 120-150 to be more comfortable.
If you’re having a Annuals Garden and Pavilion wedding, the closest area for lodging would be in Cherry Creek, which is a higher end district of Denver. Filled with lots of trendy restaurants and shops, some great options for hotels here would be Halcyon Hotel, the Moxy Hotel, or the Jacquard Hotel.
Service dogs are allowed. You can bring in your own alcohol, but it must be served by one of the allowed catering staff.
If you loved Caitlin and Michael’s Annual Gardens Wedding, then I think you would also love Rachel and Kyle’s Woodland Mosaic Wedding which was also in the Denver Botanic Gardens. You might also enjoy this Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding too!
