Emma and Jeramey held their Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding in the early stages of summer while Colorado was still trying to give its last hoorah of afternoon spring showers. The recent rain really brightened up the florals and natural greenery of the landscape! Blackstone Rivers Ranch is nestled right into the side of the mountain as you leave the quaint mountain town of Idaho Springs, heading up to Mt. Evans. The weather really made the green of the moss and pines really pop, and the river that runs right through the venue was giving a light roar.
These two are such a lively couple, and so were all their guests! They had everyone dancing the night away with a live band in the provided tent on site. It was such a beautiful evening for a beautiful couple.

The Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding venue has one of the best reputations amongst Colorado wedding vendors. The staff is so nice and accommodating, and the service is impeccable. They are a family run small business. (No seriously, they live on property!) They also give back to the community which is amazing! It is a fairly new venue so it has all of the modern features, and was built as a wedding venue in mind. It has a great ‘wedding flow’, as in there are designated spots for couples to set up and get ready/hang out, and for guests to mingle and enjoy the scenery. It is spacious and nestled amongst lush greenery and a flowing river. There are aspens on property that turn a gorgeous color in the fall. It’s simply a beautiful quintessential wedding venue!
I’m such a fan of this venue, that I’ve actually added it my list of Colorado Mountain Wedding Venues with Epic Views and Scenery!
Blackstone Rivers Ranch is also a fan favorite Colorado wedding venue because of where it is located. It sits about a 35 minutes drive from downtown Denver, and about a 7 minute drive from Idaho Springs. It is right IN the mountains, yet still close to the city! This makes it one of the only Colorado mountain wedding venues within a reasonable distance of Denver. Guests can easily stay in the city if they are visiting from out of town (where there are a lot of lodging options). Shuttles can drop off guests to and from their original destination.
Also within driving distance is Mt. Evans (about a 15-20min drive from the venue), which is a great spot for some photo locations.
On site at the venue is a large modern barn that has been specifically built for getting ready spaces. There are two main spaces on the ground floor that can be used by the couple and their respect wedding parties. They both have decks attached to their rooms as well as a spacious bathroom. On the top floor is a larger room, that can be used for multiple purposes. It can be a lounge or hangout room for family or wedding party members. This barn is usually closed off to guests, but the bathrooms are located inside of this building for them to use. If you’re looking for barn wedding venues Virginia, contact Sierra Vista.
There is a designated ceremony space in the middle of the venue that has a bunch of slab seats for guests to watch the ceremony vows take place. This space is VERY romantic and very organic. It sits beneath a few trees and sits next to the river that flows through the venue. Behind this space is a more open area with chairs and high tops that can be used for an outdoor cocktail hour space right after the ceremony. The ceremony space can host about 150 or more guests!
If it happens to rain on the wedding day, most rain plans are to move the ceremony inside the reception tent. Behind the tent is a beautiful aspen grove which can be used as the background to an indoor ceremony option.
There is a reception tent on site at Blackstone Rivers Ranch. This tent screams glamour, luxury, and intimacy. The tent’s ceiling is very high and can be decorated in so many different ways! Florals always transform the tent into something mystical and magical. The space can hold about 150 seated guests comfortably! Late night dancing can also happen under the tent.
On site there are SO many beautiful spots to take wedding photos. Just passed the parking area is a gorgeous little nook of woods that rest right be the river. There is a man-made bridge that brings you to a stone wall covered in moss and ferns. From this patch of land you can also see the market lights of the venue in the distance.
There are also some market lights that line the driveway up to the barn. This is another private and beautiful spot for photos!
If the wedding day timeline allows it, there are some amazing look out spots up the road to Mt. Evans that are simply jaw dropping. With this venue being so remote into the woods, the options are endless.
Depending on time of year and what sort of packages you want, Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding pricing can range from $6,000-14,000.
If you loved Emma and Jeramey’s wedding, then I think you’d also like this Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding, this Aspen Meadows Resort Platos Deck wedding, or this Barn at Sunset Ranch wedding!
