I'm so glad you are here to check out some recent work. I'm a Colorado wedding photographer that shoots all around the country. The blog is filled with full wedding and portrait sessions, and includes weddings planning tips and inspiration.
These two were totally up for an adventure at Sunrise at Maroon Bells for their engagement session in Aspen! Fun fact, did you know that Maroon Bells is the most photographed spot in all of Colorado! And I can understand why! We woke up at 3:30 am to meet up in downtown Aspen. We then drove to Maroon Bells while it was still dark. As soon as we parked, we could see the glow of the sun juuuust starting to appear! The Colorado mountains were starting to turn a dull pink, which then turned to a move vibrant glow! We hiked up the hill, along with some early riser ultra runners, who obviously zoomed right past us! We saw some tents near the lake as we started dancing around them, hopefully not waking them up too much! Haha! (A few did come out of their tents to see what we were doing, but they cheered on the couple!) It was so amazing seeing Maroon Bells for the first time ever, in this light. The whole land just opened up to us within an hour. We hiked back down through the aspen jungle and just took one last look at the 14ers before heading back to Aspen. What a day!
Just a reminder, that you may need to get a reservation/permit to shoot at Maroon Bells! We were lucky enough to get one last minute for the sunrise time frame. It was about a 20-ish minute drive from downtown Aspen. I can’t wait to get back there again! Ah, I’d love to do another engagement there! I also can’t wait to get back and see it at different times of the year! I bet it would be beautiful in the fall there while at sunset, especially with all of the aspen trees turning different colors. So let’s hope for not only another sunrise maroon bells engagement, as well as a sunset one!
