Holly and Zack are married! I had so much fun getting to know these two and then photographing their GORGeous Flying Horse Ranch wedding! The ranch is located outside of Larkspur, and is about an hour south of Denver. It is a family owned ranch that sits on 1,400 acres of land, and they house horses! It was a beautiful day with a perfect sunset over Pikes Peak. I was SO obsessed with Holly’s stunning tulle ballgown dress! The florals done by Studio Privé were the perfect touch to their ballroom ceremony as well.
JUMP AHEAD TO:
My favorite part of this wedding venue was the TWO large getting ready suites. The couple can easily separate on each side of the ranch with all of their bridal party members. One has a make up room, and the other has a game room! You will not feel crowded with the amount of space they provide for you here.
The venue also includes chairs for up to 200 guests. Depending if you get the “all-inclusive” package or not, they can also provide much more such as chairs and linens! Parking on site is very easy and can accommodate many vehicles.
What I love about Flying Horse Ranch is the SIZE of the venue! As well as it’s privacy. This privately owned ranch sits on 1,400 acres and is completely private. You drive down a long driveway, past the horse stables and lodging areas to the wedding venue. The venue itself is massive. Inside the main building there is a beautiful indoor ceremony option, where Holly and Zack chose to do their vows. It could easily seat 200 guests. It sits in front of large floor to ceiling window doors that open up to the grassy fields in the distance. Another ceremony option is just out those very doors. In front of the ranch is a large grass yard with a built in ceremony arch that has views for miles.
For reception spaces, the most popular would be in the barn just adjacent to the main ranch house. The barn was built just for this reason! It has a rustic feel, but is equipped with nice bathrooms and has doors leading to a beautiful outdoor patio under string market lights that has a nice fireplace on one end of it. This space is great because it is spacious but also favored to have the dancing outside on the outdoor patio in the warmer months. Some couples also opt to have their reception or dinner service inside the main ranch room where the ceremony also is usually held. It gives it more of a ballroom/grand room feeling!
Pricing for the Flying Horse Ranch wedding venue varies because there are two options; the “all inclusive” package, or the “exclusive” package where you can bring in your own vendors of your choosing. Both are great options, but it will really depend on your budget and your ‘vision’.
For the all-inclusive venue option, packages will include everything that the venue offers (such as the two getting ready suites, fireplaces, ceremony and reception sites, market lights, parking, etc.), as well as the vendors that they would provide. The venue would provide floral design, a coordinator, a hosted bar, entertainment, linens and china, and food! (Basically, you would only need to get a photographer….hey, that’s me!!) This all-inclusive wedding package will cost around $23k for 75 guests on a Monday-Thursday, and up to $35.5k for 200 guests on a Monday-Thursday. For a Saturday event, it would cost around $25.5k for 75 guests, and up to $37k for 200.
And then for the ‘exclusive‘ (or bring in your own vendors) option, you will really only be getting the “venue”. This will run you about $5,000-6,500 on a Sunday-Thursday, and $7,500-12,500 on a Friday or Saturday. You would still get access to all that the venue offers (the two getting ready suites, as well as market lights and fireplaces), as well as up to 200 chairs.
Flying Horse Ranch is best suited for larger weddings of 150 to 200 people. With such open spaces, smaller weddings might feel like they are being swallowed in some of these grand rooms. The getting ready suites are easily large enough to fit larger bridal parties in them as well. The venue provides chairs for up to 200 people for you!
