The Greenbriar Inn Wedding | Charlotte + Ben

Charlotte and Ben hosted a Greenbriar Inn wedding just outside of Boulder, Colorado on one of the last perfect days in autumn. The sun was out, the leaves were vibrant, and the mood was perfect. This historic inn is unassumingly placed half way between Boulder and Lyons. If you’re not looking for it, you might miss it! It feels private and romantic all at once. The history behind the property is quite interesting as well. The Inn was originally a general store and post office built in 1873. It was a good in-between spot for miners between Boulder and Ward. It’s use evolved over time as the mining industry died down, turning into a gas station, and eventually an Inn. It is now also used for private events as well.

For Greenbriar Inn weddings, the set up is quite pleasant. There is a getting ready cottage just across the main building that has been updated with a small kitchenette and bedroom. It sits in an adorable grass field scattered with shady trees that are excellent for mid day portraits. The ceremony site is at the end of the parking lot, and sort of “hidden” in a private garden space. A soothing waterfall whispers away behind the altar site. Cocktail hour can be in the patio or garden next to the inn, and guests can then be led into the main dining room area. The dining room is dark and vintage. The creaky floors and walls prove the history and age of the Inn.

What really needs to be noted though, is the chef’s menu and food that is served from the Inn. When booking with the venue, you a presented with an overwhelming list of options of gourmet food options for your guests! I even found a vintage menu dating back decades hanging on their wall! All in all, The Greenbriar Inn wedding venue is an excellent option for events close to Denver that are romantic, vintage, and historic.
