JUMP AHEAD TO:
Vicky and Charles came to Breckenridge, Colorado from NYC to host their Ten Mile Station wedding. They love the mountains, and Colorado in particular. They wanted their friends and family to enjoy this beautiful state and celebrate their love in style. They told their guests it was a “western” theme, and boy did they all go for it!
It was an insanely beautiful fall day. We got lucky with the weather and the colors that autumn brought for us. The freckled aspen trees on the mountain had just turned yellow.
Vicky wore a stunning bridal cape that was made by her friend! And Charles wore a bolo tie and had a cowboy hat as an accessory.
The food was delicious, the weather was perfect, and the dancing was fun.
This wedding was also featured on Green Wedding Shoes to help inspire other couples with their real wedding example.

Ten Mile Station is actually a ski lodge on the mountain of Breckenridge! It is used in the winter as such, with provisions and a place to warm your hands and feet. The building has beautiful views of the mountain and small town, and is located near a chair lift. During the summer months, it is used as a wedding venue!
Since the venue is seasonal, it is only available for weddings and events from June to early October. It is also only accessible by dirt road! You will be driving under other chair lifts and across mountain biking paths to get there.
The Ten Mile Station wedding venue is located literally on the Breckenridge ski mountain! It is nestled in between pines and Colorado aspens, with views looking over some of the beautiful Rocky Mountains near the Continental Divide! Since this venue sits on a ski mountain, you’ll see signs for different slopes, and you’ll also see the ski lift just up the hill.
A fair warning though- this venue is located down about a mile of dirt road. It takes about 10-15mins of driving on this dirt road to get to the venue, so all vehicles and any person trying to get there should have appropriate transportation. This is why it is recommended to shuttle your guests to the venue from downtown Breckenridge.
Ten Mile Station can host LARGE weddings! They have a capacity of 200 guests. Not only is the space large enough to fit a bigger scale wedding for a seated reception, but the inside of the building actually feels grand as well. With large ceilings and open windows, you feel out in nature.
Ten Mile Station does have spaces for the couple to get ready in. One of the rooms is very large and spacious and has adorable chairs and lounges for other wedding party members to hang out in. The rooms are tucked away on the bottom level of the building. A lot of couples opt for something different though! Breckenridge is known for its large rental properties on the outskirts of town. A lot of couples will rent out one of these large mansions for their close family and friends to stay in. (This is what Vicky and Charles did as well!) With a bit of a bigger and more personal space to get ready, it is a great second option for couples. Most of these rentals are only 10-15 mins away from the Ten Mile Station wedding venue
The Ten Mile Station patio is where the majority of couples decide to hold their ceremony. This space is a large brick patio just on the side of the main building. The ceremony backdrop views are so stunning! It screams “Colorado” in every way.
In the event of rainy weather, the venue does have an indoor option on the first floor of the building. This space is definitely a bit more cramped, but it will work in case of emergencies!
Inside the building, there is a large area surrounded by beautiful glass windows overlooking the mountains. This is the area used for a seated reception and dinner. It is adjacent to the indoor bar area, which also gets beautiful light from the large windows. In between the reception space and the bar, there is an open area that can be used for late night dancing! So guests can use the entire space within Ten Mile Station without feeling like everything is too spread out!
According to their website, Ten Mile Station wedding pricing will run around $24,000-40,000. This *includes* the food and beverage minimum. They say that a typical food and beverage cost per person will run you about $160 per person.
When you book your wedding at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge, the venue will provide the following;
Their package pricing includes the ceremony site fee.
There are lots of lodging options within the adorable ski town of Breckenridge. The best part is, a large majority of them are also CLOSE!. A great option is the Lodge at Breckenridge, which has perfect views of Breck mountain across the way. So you can probably even see the wedding venue from your hotel room!
Breckenridge also has a plethora of large mountain cabin rentals that can sleep up to 12 people! This is a perfect option for getting ready locations, and to host your wedding party or close family. This is what Vicky and Charles did. You can find these types of rentals on AirBnb, or VRBO.
Wherever you decide to stay, the Breckenridge shuttles can pick you and your guests up at a predetermined location for the wedding ceremony.
